Our farm is located on the outskirts of Galway city, in Castlegar.
The farmyard is nestled in the centre of the century’s old village of Kiltulla and is surrounded by lush green fields, where our small herd of Jersey cows leisurely graze on pastures filled with a diverse range of grasses, clovers and herbs.
We are currently in our 2nd year of conversion and due to be certified organic on 1st January 2026. Find out more about our farm in our FAQs below.
Organic Farming is a sustainable method of farming. It requires the application of farming methods that do not damage the environment, respect our countryside, promote high animal welfare, and produce high-quality products.
Organic farming relies on recycling organic materials for fertility, and non-chemical methods for controlling pests, diseases, and weeds. The use of synthetic fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides, and artificial feed additives is strictly prohibited for organic farmers.
As members of the Organic Trust, we also promote higher livestock standards based on the five freedoms:
As an organic farm, we are fully committed to exceeding the standards set by The Organic Trust, and to producing the highest quality products possible.
We chose Jerseys for our herd as they are known to have the richest milk of all dairy breeds. Irish Jersey cow’s milk can have up to 6% butterfat and 4% protein, and their milk has a superior taste and texture compared to other breeds.
Studies have also shown Jersey milk contains more calcium, Vitamin B12, and Beta-Carotene than other breeds, contributing to healthy bones, skin, vision, and immune function.
Jersey cows are also known for their calm and docile nature, and we can attest to their friendliness!
We are hoping to! At this time, we are only licensed to sell Whole Milk, but we are aiming to start producing Low-Fat Milk and Cream, as well as Butter and other products later in the year, and into 2026. If there are any particular products you are interested in seeing such as meat or other animal products, please contact us with your interest and we will let you know of any developments.
Our small herd of Jersey cows have all been genetically tested to verify that they only produce milk that contains A2 protein only, most cows produce milk that contains both A1 and A2 protein.
A2 Milk is cow’s milk that comes from cows which only produce the A2 beta-casein protein. Regular cow’s milk contains both A1 and A2 proteins. A2 Milk still contains lactose, and is not suitable for those with lactose intolerance, however it is well established that some people are sensitive to the A1 protein rather than lactose, and drinking A2 milk relieves their gastrointestinal discomfort when consuming dairy. If you have had previous success drinking Goats Milk, we encourage you to try our delicious Whole A2 Jersey Milk!
Our milk is only pasteurized, and never homogenised, to ensure our milk remains as true-to-source as possible. Because we don’t homogenise our milk, the cream eventually separates and floats to the top of the bottle. We recommend a gentle shake before opening to mix the cream back in, unless you like cream in your coffee.
Absolutely! Our bottles and their caps are made from PET plastic. The whole lot can be recycled at home. We will always ensure that any disposables generated by our products are 100% recyclable.
Our cows are only milked once a day and produce the most delicious Jersey milk which is gently pasteurised and bottled in our farmyard just meters from where the cows are milked, our products have very low food miles, are fresh as can be and are handled only by us so you can really trust its quality.
